Kaspersky PURE is an optimal solution for comprehensive protection of computers within your home network.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The minimum system requirements for Kaspersky PURE are:
1. General requirements
o 375 MB free hard drive space.
o CD-ROM drive (for installing Kaspersky PURE from the installation CD).
o Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (for updating databases and application modules via Internet).
o Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0.
o Internet access for activation and updating databases
2. Operating systems
o Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 2 or higher), Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2 or higher), Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64* Edition (Service Pack 2 or higher):
o Intel Pentium 300 MHz processor or higher (or a compatible equivalent);
o 256 MB RAM.
o Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic (32/64* Bit), Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (32/64* Bit), Microsoft Windows Vista Business (32/64* Bit), Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise (32/64* Bit), Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (32/64* Bit):
 Intel Pentium 800 MHz 32-bit (x86) / 64-bit (x64) processor or higher (or a compatible equivalent);
 512 MB free RAM.
o Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (32/64* Bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (32/64* Bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (32/64* Bit):
 Intel Pentium 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) / 64-bit (x64) processor or higher (or a compatible equivalent);
 1 GB free RAM (32-bit)/ 2 GB free RAM (64-bit).
*Some product features are only available on x32 operating systems.
INSTALLATION
To install the application, please run the installation file and follow the setup wizard's instructions.
1. During installation, Kaspersky PURE detects applications which if used simultaneously with the application would greatly slow the user's computer, perhaps to the point of complete inoperability, and allows deletion of such applications.

Kaspersky PURE ensures protection of your computer against all types of information threats in real time, secures your personal data from loss and unauthorized use, protects children and teenagers from threats related to computer and Internet usage, and manages the security of all computers within your home network from any single computer.
• The cutting edge anti-virus technologies of Kaspersky PURE ensure protection against such current information threats, as viruses, Trojan programs, worms, rootkits, bootkits, botnets and other unauthorized methods of remote management of the users' computers, stealing logins, passwords and other personal data stored on your computer, spam, phishing and hacker attacks, and unwanted web content.
• Kaspersky PURE's Proactive Defense technologies protect against new threats using a behavioral analyzer, which controls applications behavior on the computer and stops the activity of applications, whose behavior is suspicious or dangerous.
• The Application Control system controls the activity of applications run on your computer, and restricts their access to important areas of the operating system and personal user data. Applications are split into groups (trusted, low restricted, high restricted, and untrusted) based on Kaspersky reputation services. Restrictions are applied depending on to which group the application belongs.
• The unique Sandbox technology uses virtualization principles to create a safe environment for application execution. The safe mode allows users to new software in an isolated environment, which protects the operating system from all malicious changes. The number of Internet browsers and other applications run in the safe mode simultaneously, is unlimited.
• A set of tools for protection of personal user data automatically prevents inadvertent users from accessing known phishing web sites, and blocks keylogger programs, which are designed to steal passwords and access codes.
• The Anti-Spam technology, which allows to dramatically decrease the number of unwanted email messages, bases on the methods of two types: exact methods and expert methods. Exact methods allow the applying of rigid filtering criteria to the email message, and make it possible to determine unambiguously whether the message contains spam or not. Expert methods allow inspection of email messages which have been sorted using strict selection criteria.
• Backup copying ensures the storing and protection of the user's important data (documents, photos, music files) against loss or damage as a result of malware operation, unintentional deletion, or hard drive failure. Backup copies of data are created in special storage areas on the chosen drive and allow quick restoration of data if data loss occurs.
• Parental Control is designed to protect children and teenagers from threats related to computer and Internet usage. Parental Control allows a flexible limit of the access to resources and applications for different users depending on their age and experience, and view statistical reports about the users' actions.
• The modern methods of "transparent" encryption allow to securely protect the user's data from unauthorized access or stealing by creating special data storages, i.e. container files. After connecting the container file, you can work with it as with protected virtual logical drive. If a virus outbreak occurs, if you work in unprotected wireless networks, in case of a loss or theft of a USB disk or a laptop computer, Kaspersky PURE provides confidentiality of encrypted information.
• Password Manager securely stores passwords and other user's account data, and provides confidentiality when filling various authorization forms. Password Manager sticks passwords and accounts to Microsoft Windows applications and web pages for which they are used. After launching a web page or application, the user name and password are entered automatically.
• The Control Center allows starting virus scan tasks and update tasks for the whole network or for selected computers, manage the backup copying of data, and configure Parental Control settings on all computers within the network immediately from your workspace. This ensures remote security management of all computers within home network.
MAIN KNOWN ISSUES
1. If a threat in OLE object is detected, the application does not suggest the user to perform disinfection. Possible actions in this case – place file to quarantine or delete it.
2. Web Anti-Virus does not notify the user about downloaded files.
3. If the application, added to the safe environment, has a long name, it becomes inconvenient to use the scrollbar in the list of Safe Run applications.
4. Problems with display of some files in special defragmentation software – PageDefrag are possible.
5. In some cases the "^" key on the virtual keyboard stays pressed. To solve this problem, right-click this key with a mouse.
6. Complex filtering works incorrectly in some report windows.
7. It is possible that emails received in the common Microsoft Windows environment are not displayed in the Safe Run in the Microsoft Outlook Express (Windows Mail) email client.
8. When deleting data permanently, files larger than two GB can be restored.
9. When switching the user in the system (Fast User Switch), rolling back of activity traces deletion will also roll back activity traces deleted under another account.
10. For correct display of the Password Manager module, in the Regional Options of the operating system, set the language of the product as the language for applications that do not support Unicode: Start –> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Advanced -> Language for non-Unicode programs.
11. Error message about file(s) deletion may be displayed when using permanent file deletion in XP Mode in Windows 7. However, in this case files are deleted without any possibility to restore them in the future.
12. Closing several windows via taskbar is not supported in Windows 7.
13. Drive disconnection error is displayed when attempting to disconnect an encrypted container, connected as a virtual drive, using the "Eject" option from the context menu of Windows Explorer. To disconnect encrypted containers, use the "Disconnect container" option in the drive context menu in Windows Explorer or the corresponding option in the Kaspersky PURE interface.
14. The "@yahoo.com" postfix should not be entered when adding Yahoo Messenger contacts to the black/white list of instant messaging contacts in Parental Control. Otherwise, the necessary restrictions will not be applied to the contact.
15. Interception of instant messages is not available when using http proxy.
16. In Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 data restoration from a backup storage using Kaspersky Restore Utility is only possible under accounts included in either the Backup operators group, or the Administrators group. Otherwise, restoration will not be completed due to a file access error.
